Plans for Sunday

I promised I would make a blog post, and on time no less. I totally forgot to make one two days ago and I feel bad for it. This is on queue to post at midnight, since I'm probably already asleep. I am running a 5K in the morning around my old elementary school. It's going to be fun. The last time I did it was 12 years ago and it was 36 minutes. I did a practice run early today at 43 minutes, not too shabby compared to my old time.

After that, in the afternoon, will probably do voice over recording for Selatria. Looking forward to that. :)

Until next time!

I need to manage my time better

Seriously. I am very sleep deprived... I was up with 3-4 hours of sleep a night for the last couple of days, and then my eyes started bleeding last night.

I'm kind of worried about that, but maybe they became strained, I don't know.

I am now working on Python homework and devising robot sensors for Artificial Intelligence. The homework is due tomorrow, and I think I got the design of the program up and running, here's hoping it works in actual implementation.

I also need more sleep. Not enough time in the day, I swear.

Mellow!

I don't know what to talk about today. Writer's block maybe. Lots of things going around. I'm chugging through my classes, and life is going swell for the time being.

Maybe I'll have more to talk about on Wednesday.

Oh, and check this out.

Talking about 1.21 on 1/21 o.o

While I'm sitting down doing my laundry, I might as well work on a blog post for today.

I think I've created a new gaming habit. I work/program in the daytime, and play games after 8PM Pacific/11PM Eastern. Seems to work out well. I have a constant schedule to lead a Final Fantasy XIV event daily at the same time every night, and on weekends I play Age of Empires III with some of my friends.

For Final Fantasy XIV, we're gearing up to prepare to take down the moogles with greater efficiency. I want to get my gear all materia'd out and ready to go. I'm looking forward to it, though I should really take up crafting. I procrastinate though... maybe Armorcraft?

As for the job system coming in 1.21, I'm going to likely be a Paladin and Black Mage, my two favorite jobs. Though I don't mind being a healer, tanking and nuking seems to be what I'm best at.

That's it for now, until next post!

Selatria: Chapter 1 Preview

I'm not sure when Selatria: Chapter 1 is going to be released for public audiences. It was originally January 28, but had to be delayed in order to finalize things. It's not going to be vaporware... it'll just be ready when it's ready. It's coming along very nicely, though!

I'm working on cutscenes and gameplay development, the voice actors are recording lines as they're being finished, and the artists are working on the various expressions and sprites.

Johan is doing the expressions/reactions/faces, and Juliet is doing the sprite art and the menu portraits. So far it's meshing quite well as you can see.

Here are some screenshots of what the project looks like now:

YouTube page will be coming soon. I'm hoping to show samples of the soundtrack done by Luke Simpson, Chris Nuno, and others as teasers as well as our trailer being hosted on there. It'll be up soon. I just like to wait until things are smooth and finished before letting the open public play the project. @_@

Until next post!

Busy busy busy!

I almost forgot to do a post today... I've been so busy.

I'm learning a good deal about Python! It's a very fun language. Much easier to grasp than C++, that's for sure.

Also some new progress on Selatria. We got a good way through the voice acting submissions, I will provide some new screenshots in the future. The project is coming along very nicely. Though there seems to be a lot of refining between my vision, Airen's vision, and the voice actor's portrayal of the characters.

It's a lot of work, but I'm very satisfied with how the project is coming along.

Moogle Battle!

It's been a while since I've blogged about FFXIV. Yes, I'm still crazy enough to be playing.

Today, we did the Moogle battle with my LS, Viva Eorzea. We didn't get a win, today, but I'm seeing great improvement. We're gonna try again Tuesday night.

I also got Level 50 Archer, recently! Here's a pic of me and one of my friends Moona Dior.

Went from ahead to behind. Way, way behind.

I went from being ahead of schedule on the game to being way behind. What happened?

I'm not pointing out any team members, it's mostly my fault. I seem to come up with some crazy unrealistic deadlines.

On the other hand, if there's no deadlines, nothing ever gets done. However, if  I keep extending deadlines, what's the point of having them?

I see a lot of progress coming in the project. I'm very pleased with the amount of effort the artists, musicians, scriptwriters, and voice actors are contributing in their spare time to get this to be the best game project it can be.

It's just making me tired and burnt out to try to get this all up and involved with a lot of stuff at once. It's fun, don't get me wrong, but it feels like a full-time job! Holy cow.

I wonder what people will think of the game. And I'm not talking about friends/family, I mean the average joe person. Gamers are usually very unforgiving and if you can't get them in the first 5 minutes, then you've lost them forever.

On another note...

Today, I'm going to smash mirrors, step on cracks, and hang out with black cats, and walk under ladders.

It's gonna be fun.

Two more quarters

Oh, right, a post.

I've been spending most of the last couple of days working on Selatria and getting set up with my first couple of days of class.

I've learned how to program in Python! Apparently we're doing that in Artificial Intelligence instead of LISP. She said it would be more useful in the workforce to learn Python rather than use a hit-or-miss language with LISP. Kind of sad we won't get to use that, but it happens. I'm still happy with being able to use Python.

Ethics and Algorithm Analysis will be interesting too, a little harder on the second class, but I think I'll be alright.

Last quarter will be in Spring where I finish my CSE classes, and then to more classes in summer and I am done!

The Monday after.

This past weekend was so much fun that I'm still on the high after.

Hey all, sorry for not posting on the 7th. I was at Anime Los Angeles and for the past few days or so I have been beat from driving back and forth from San Bernardino to the convention. But now that it's over, I can post some pictures of the event!

I had a blast. Not as good as Anime Expo but better than Anime Vegas, in my opinion. I got enough SpotPass tags to populate a small country. Everyone was cool, it was very peaceful, and I got a lot of coins for Super Mario 3D Land to get through the World 8 special zone. Lots of fun times to be had!

Picture time!

You can see them here on Facebook.

Hmm...

Came out of a meeting for Selatria today, it was great, but kind of a wake-up call that the project still needs quite a bit of work. Or maybe I'm just not motivated at the moment. Pfft.

I feel like I'm losing touch with some of my long time gaming friends. They've all joined hardcore gaming linkshells and I sit kind of in limbo. I kind of find it insulting that they'd talk down on difficult content the game has to offer and call it easy, when some of us have not completed it yet.

It disgusts me slightly.

Eh, that's all for now.

Happy New Year!

Happy new year to all!

This is going to be the start of something amazing. I can feel it! I wish all of you reading a very prosperous new year.

I'm going to try to end the feuds I have going on with people, while it's a new year, it's time to start fresh and with a clean slate. Don't you agree?
